jorgecaladoracing. & "Save the Children" in the longest race in the world against child poverty.

Jorge Calado, the young Portuguese driver currently racing in the UK,
will this summer make history for being the first ever Portuguese driver
to take part in the longest race in the world, the 25h at Spa-
Francorchamps, part of the "Uniroyal Fun Cup".
Representing the UK charity, "Save The Children", in the fight against
child poverty around the world, Jorge is hoping to be battling for the
the top places, in what is the biggest event to be held on this
magnificent circuit, only second to the Belgian F1 GP, he explains:
“Not only this is the longest race in the world (25h opposite to other
normal 24h endurance events) , but it also takes part in the fantastic
"Spa-Francorchamps", one of the most prestigious circuits in the world,
where the Belgian Formula 1 GP is held every year, amongst other
equally renowned events.
It is without any doubts a one of a kind event...”
With grids of over 160 cars every year, and entertainment on and off
the track throughout the whole weekend, it's not surprising how the
stands fill up to the top with over 200 thousand over the 25 hours, not
to mention the 215 million plus spectators watching the race on TV in
the UK, Europe, America and the rest of the world.
Jorge is confident this is the ideal event to promote "Save the
Children's" message to the members of the public.
“This event is definitely an effective way to promote the children's
rights to health care, education and raise awareness for child labour
and hunger throughout the world, and our objective is to make sure
that message gets to the members of the public as well as the
government and ultimately raise as much money as possible to help
carrying on with our mission..."
