Championship.
We are now working towards funding the 2009 season and the series of
choice is the fantastic Chevrolet V8 Supercars ME Championship.
Previously called the "Lumina-CSV Championship" this series has
been growing since 2006 when it first started, and even though it took
a breather last year due to intense development on the cars, it is back
on with a new name that reflects the nature of the fantastic new cars:
CHEVROLET LUMINA-CSV CR8
- 6.0 Litre V8 (same engine as the Corvette)
- 450 bhp(!!)
- 0-60mph in 4 seconds
- 6 speed racing sequential gearbox
- Racing suspension
- Full safety rollcage
Jorge is obviously very excited about the prospects of racing a
thoroughbred V8 Supercar in the Middle East.
"From the moment I was invited by the championship organiser, Mr.
Sherif Al Mahdy, to participate in the series, I decided this would be
the perfect next step in my career. Obviously for someone like me who
is aiming for a future in touring cars this is just a fantastic stepping
stone."
The series will start in November this year and run through to April
2010 where it will support the F1 GP race in the Bahrain International
Circuit, Other venues visited during the season will include, Dubai
Autodrome, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
